{"id":78,"date":"2018-02-05T15:00:18","date_gmt":"2018-02-05T04:00:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vk1zdj.net\/?p=78"},"modified":"2018-03-02T15:42:46","modified_gmt":"2018-03-02T04:42:46","slug":"sota-equipment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vk1zdj.net\/?p=78","title":{"rendered":"SOTA Equipment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m relatively new to the whole SOTA hobby, so I am still learning as I go.<\/p>\n<p>My main portable gear is based on the following;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>FT817 &#8211; A beautiful 5W radio for HF, 15, 144 and 430 Mhz bands.<\/li>\n<li>McHF &#8211; A fully featured SDR for the HF bands &#8211; about 10W output.<\/li>\n<li>A small Windom antenna &#8211; Neat, offset feed useful for HF.<\/li>\n<li>Buddipole, including a tripod mount and a 7m mast &#8211; It all packs up into very little space.<\/li>\n<li>A Homemade 12000mAh LiPo battery pack.<\/li>\n<li>Acer Aspire One notebook for Digital modes.<\/li>\n<li>Various Anderson connectors and cables for DC.<\/li>\n<li>RG58 for the antenna runs.<\/li>\n<li>60 Watt Solar charger to keep the battery going.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All packaged into a comfortable backpack.\u00a0 including Lunch and water for my travels.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m relatively new to the whole SOTA hobby, so I am still learning as I go.
